BRISTOL, TENN. – Lees-McRae women's basketball dropped tonight's contest to King, 69-55, as the Tornado earned a point towards the "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Aurora Roberts led the Bobcats in the scoring column with 15 points on 6-12 shooting and hauled in three rebounds. Arriana Lizarraga and Dianna Spence followed with seven points apiece for Lees-McRae.
- Roberts made a jumper with 4:32 remaining in the first quarter as the Bobcats gained the lead for the first time at 9-8. Jala Holloman pushed the advantage to four points off a Sandra Mason the next possession for the Bobcats. Lees-McRae staked out to a 16-12 margin after the first ten minutes of action.
- King closed the second quarter on a 13-0 scoring run and held the Bobcats scoreless for 6:43 in the period. Lees-McRae finally ended the scoring drought at the 7:15 mark of the third quarter after a basket via Stephanie Kucy.
- The Tornado collected the 69-55 victory on their home court and recorded another point in the 2022-23 standings of the "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup".
FOR THE TORNADO:
- Four King players scored in double figures on Monday night with Alexa Gramann leading the charge with 12 points and six boards. Jaelyn West joined her teammate with 11 points.
- Aroa Garcia and Jhayda McKinney added 10 points apiece in the win for the Tornado.
NOTEWORTHY:
- King added another point to their totals in the "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" this evening and earned the season series over the Bobcats.

Lees-McRae plays their third road contest in five days as the Bobcats head to Central, South Carolina for a Conference Carolinas matchup with Southern Wesleyan on Wednesday night.
