CENTRAL, S.C. – Jaylin Stewart recorded a season-high 25 points on 11-15 shooting as Lees-McRae men's basketball dropped a Conference Carolinas contest to Southern Wesleyan by a final of 89-87.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Stewart scored 25 points off the bench for the Bobcats and Timon Jones followed with 14 points, three assists, and one steal. Sidney Dollar had 11 points and went 4-4 from the free-throw line.
- Nico Ashley had a solid game for Lees-McRae with eight points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Brandon Brown collected nine points on 3-7 from the field.
- Lees-McRae shot 48.6% (35-72) from the floor on Wednesday evening with four three-pointers and 13-20 from the charity stripe.
- The Bobcats held the advantage inside with 60 points in the paint to Southern Wesleyan's 52.
- The Bobcats pushed their first half lead to 38-32 off a fastbreak layup by LJ Rogers with 4:45 remaining, but the Warriors quickly went on an 8-0 run and SWU registered the halftime lead at 44-41.
- Southern Wesleyan grew the margin to 20 points with 8:52 left in the second half, but the Bobcats tied the game up at 85-85 after a Jones' layup with a little over a minute to play.
- The Warriors regained the two-point margin on their next possession and pushed the lead back to four points with 43 seconds left in the contest. Dollar made both free throws for the Bobcats at 89-87 and Jones's three-point attempt at the buzzer was no good as Southern Wesleyan survived the late rally.
FOR THE WARRIORS:
- Jamal Edmonson had a game-high 28 points for the Warriors on 12-17 shooting and Dyren Brown followed with 25. Griffin Effenberger and Bryson Felder joined their fellow teammates in double-digit scoring with 13 and 12 respectively.
