BELMONT, N.C. –
Sebastian Heer had a team-high nine kills on a .500 hitting percentage as Lees-McRae men's volleyball dropped a tough three-set match to Belmont Abbey on Saturday afternoon.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Belmont Abbey def. Lees-McRae, 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 31-29)

RECORDS: Belmont Abbey (10-12/5-4), Lees-McRae (8-9/4-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the third and final set, the Bobcats had a set point at 24-23 but Belmont Abbey tied the set at 24-24 and held off Lees-McRae in the marathon set with the 31-29 decision.
- Heer recorded nine kills on 16 attempts and had three total blocks to lead the Bobcats. Ace Backer followed with five kills on a hitting percentage of .545.
- Bradley Peters added two service aces to his season totals along with 26 assists and five kills for Lees-McRae.
- Belmont Abbey tallied 38 kills to the Bobcats' 37 and the Crusaders had a hitting percentage of .373 in the three-set match.
FOR THE CRUSADERS:
- Matteo Miselli and Matthew Staskunas had double-digit kills for Belmont Abbey with 14 and 10 kills, respectively.
- Matthew Maxwell had a match-high 31 assists and Alex Winiarczyk registered a match-high six blocks in the win.
