BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball was back on their home floor this evening for a Conference Carolinas showdown with Mount Olive. The Trojans took the match in straight sets with a marathon set victory in set three at 29-27.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Mount Olive def. Lees-McRae, 3-1 (25-20, 25-23, 29-27)

RECORDS: Mount Olive (9-13/5-7), Lees-McRae (9-12/5-5)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- M.J. Doyle had a team-high 12 kills on a .280 hitting clip for the Bobcats along with four digs. Ace Backer followed with 10 kills and three blocks.
- Bradley Peters distributed 38 assists and recorded two kills and four digs.
- Lees-McRae had a hitting clip of .319 to Mount Olive's .424 in the three-set match. The Bobcats registered a hitting percentage of .600 in the first set with 14 total kills.
- UMO held off two Bobcat set points in the third set after Doyle collected back-to-back kills at 24-22. The Trojans finished the match with a kill via Hayden Frear and a service ace by Jackson Lahey at 29-27.
FOR THE TROJANS:
- Tate Sandvig led the match with 14 kills and recorded four total blocks, four digs, and one service ace. Pedro Gonzalez followed with 11 kills on a .917 hitting percentage.
- Lahey produced 40 assists for the Trojans and Trevor Treser tallied six digs in the win.

Lees-McRae welcomes Barton to the McNair & Debi Tornow Court tomorrow afternoon. The Bobcats will honor six seniors prior to the match as part of Senior Day.
