HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sebastian Heer recorded a game-high 13 kills along with four total blocks for the Bobcats. Marsans followed with 12 kills, three service aces, and four digs.
- Backer and Doyle tallied 11 kills apiece and Doyle collected a double-double with 10 digs. Angelo joined Doyle in double-digit digs with 10 digs along with five kills.
- Peters joined Doyle with a double-double with 48 assists and 11 digs in the match.
- Nalls had a match-high 13 digs and three assists on Saturday afternoon.
- Lees-McRae roared back to even the match at one set apiece with a decisive 25-13 win the second set and took the match lead with a 25-15 victory in the third set.
- Barton evened the match at two sets apiece with a 25-20 victory.
- In the fifth and final set, the Bobcats jumped out to a 4-1 advantage behind back-to-back aces via Marsans. Barton regained the 5-4 advantage with back-to-back solo blocks.
- Heer gave the Bobcats two match points with a kill at 14-12, but the Bulldogs followed with three consecutive points and earned the match with an ace by Thomas Fanic at 17-15.
FOR THE BULLDOGS:
- Benjamin Wiechert had a team-high 10 kills on a .471 hitting percentage and added five total blocks.
- Jake Adams just missed a double-double with nine kills and 10 blocks.
