RESULTS | STANDINGS
CENTRAL, S.C. – Lees-McRae men's and women's cycling collected a third place in the team omnium on April 2 as the Bobcats competed at the SECCC Road Conference Championships hosted by Clemson University.
THE BASICS
RACE: Tiger Town Classic
LOCATION: Central, South Carolina
MEN'S NOTABLES:
- Derrick Chavarria earned second place for the Bobcats in the Men's A Criterium with a solid sprint at the finish. Josh Foley and Peter Swinand placed 15th and 16th respectively in the race.
- Max Chilsen posted a victory in the Men's B Criterium with a sprint at the finish line over Milligan's James Berkheimer.
- Jackson McLean took second in the Men's C Criterium.
- Levi Smith recorded second place in the Men's D Criterium to round out the top podium spots for Lees-McRae.
- Chilsen placed second for Lees-McRae in Sunday's Men's B Road Race and McLean earned the top spot in the Men's C race.
- In Sunday's road race, Smith registered a second place for the second consecutive day in a time of 1:18.30.
- Chavarria is sitting in eighth place currently after the SECCC Championships and Shay Wright is in 10th place.
WOMEN'S NOTABLES:
- Heidi Martin placed 11th for the Bobcats in the Women's A Criterium and Maria Döring came in 14th for Lees-McRae on April 1.
- Mariana Rinaldo picked up a conference championship in the Women's B Criterium in a time of 27:09.8.
- Rinaldo continued her strong weekend with a seventh-place finish in the Women's A Road Race and Döring followed in 12 for the Bobcats.
- Döring is currently in third place in the Women's A road standings and Martin follows in sixth place for the Bobcats.
UP NEXT:
The Bobcats return to the road circuit on Saturday and Sunday as they head to Boone to compete at App State.
