WISE, Va. – The Lees-McRae women's volleyball team made its first road trip of the season with the drive to the campus of UVA Wise. The Bobcats dropped both matches today with the matches both going five sets.
GAME 1 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Concord def. Lees-McRae, 3-2 (18-25, 27-25, 17-25, 25-19, 15-130
LOCATION: Prior Center – Wise, Virginia
RECORDS: Concord (2-0), Lees-McRae (0-1)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Destiny Holley led the way with a career-high 19 kills and added seven total blocks in the match. Sydney Stigler followed with 18 kills and eight digs. Nina Vallesi and Patrycka Rykala joined their fellow Bobcats in double-digit kills with 12 apiece and Vallesi added 23 total digs.
- Madison Goins dished out a match-high 60 assists for Lees-McRae and Lauren Xayavong made her return as a bobcat with 29 digs and four assists. Goins tallied a double-double with 12 digs also and Bre Adamson chipped 17 digs in the season opener.
FOR THE MOUNTAIN LIONS:
- Meg Williams had a team-high 17 digs in the five-set victory with Natalie Brown and Chloe Thompson adding 12 and 10 kills, respectively.
- Allie Davis collected 27 digs to lead on the defensive end and Paige Richmond contributed 23 assists in the victory.
GAME 2 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: UVA Wise def. Lees-McRae, 3-2 (25-21, 24-26, 26-24, 21-25, 15-10)
LOCATION: Prior Center - Wise, Virginia
RECORDS: UVA Wise (1-1), Lees-McRae (0-2)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Stigler led a trio of Bobcats with double-digit kills in the second match of the Cavalier Classic with 14 kills. Rykala followed with 13 and Holley joined in with 12 on the nightcap.
- Goins added 51 assists in the five-set marathon match and collected 10 digs in the contest.
- Holley had 13 total blocks in the match with Xayavong contributing 24 digs in the match.
FOR THE CAVALIERS:
- Morgan Blankenship and Kaylee Scarce led the Cavaliers to the five-set victory with 14 kills apiece and Scarce tallied a double-double with 21 digs on the night.
- Lily Gutierrez started the offense with 27 assists and Kamryn Livingston matched Xayavong with a match-high 24 digs.

The Bobcats look to bounce tomorrow with two more matches at the Cavalier Classic with Davis & Elkins and Johnson C. Smith starting at 1 p.m.
