WISE, Va. – Lees-McRae women's volleyball posted two sweeps on Friday with three-set victories against Davis & Elkins and Johnson C. Smith on the campus of UVA Wise.
Sydney Stigler posted her second straight match with a double-double against Davis & Elkins and
Destiny Holley had a match-high 16 kills against Johnson C. Smith.
GAME 1 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae def. Davis & Elkins, 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 28-26)
LOCATION: Prior Center – Wise, Virginia
RECORDS: Lees-McRae (1-2); Davis & Elkins (0-1)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcats outhit the Senators in their first match of the day .177 to .128 with Lees-McRae notching 43 total kills.
- Stigler led all players on the court with a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs. Holley followed with eight kills and Madison Goins had 40 assists in three sets.
- Rebecca Ryan, Patrycja Rykala, and Nina Vallesi each collected seven kills and Lauren Xayavong paced the Bobcats on the defensive side with 17 digs.
- Lees-McRae jumped out to an early one-set lead after taking the first set 25-18 and held off a late rally by Davis & Elkins in the second set at 26-24. The Bobcats captured the sweep in the third with three straight points at 28-26 as Rykala finished the match with a kill.
- Head Women's Volleyball Lauren Havill earned her first victory at the helm of the Bobcats with the win of Davis & Elkins.
FOR THE SENATORS:
- Reanna DeBoze led Davis & Elkins with eight total kills as Katie Beth Caudill and Melisa Ozsar followed with seven kills apiece.
- Clara Carait had a match-high 23 digs to pace Davis & Elkins.
GAME 2 BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae def. Johnson C. Smith, 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-17)
LOCATION: Prior Center - Wise, Virginia
RECORDS: Lees-McRae (2-2), JCSU (0-2)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae evened their season record at 2-2 with their second sweep of the day over Johnson C. Smith. Holley continued her strong start to the season with her third of four matches with double-digit kills.
- The Bobcats dispatched the Bulls in three sets after a stellar hitting percentage of .350 and totaling 50 kills in the straight-set win. Lees-McRae limited JCSU to a .113 hitting percentage and only 23 kills.
- Rebecca Ryan followed Holley with nine kills in the match and a hitting percentage of .600. Goins and Addyson Morgan split duties in the match with Goins distributing 25 assists and Morgan adding 15 assists on the day.
- Lauren Xayavong contributed a match-high 19 digs for the Bobcats.
FOR THE BULLS:
- Camri Goodwin and Anya Valentine each had six kills in their second match of the season with Yasmine Cannon compiling 18 assists in the match.

Lees-McRae heads to Bristol, Tennessee for two matches against Milligan and Mars Hill next Friday on the campus of King University.
