WINGATE, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's soccer concluded their non-conference schedule with a 2-0 loss to Wingate on Tuesday night.
Haile Desmarais made seven saves in net for the Bobcats and
Sarah Jones,
Gwen O'Brien, and
Kat Stiles had one shot on goal each in the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Stiles had a quality chance in the 20th minute but Wingate's Katrine Thisgaard made the save. Desmarais made four stops on the Bulldogs' attack before Wingate scored in the 45th minute of the first half.
- The Bulldogs found the back of the net 15 seconds before halftime as Julia Boaventura scored off an assist from Nicole Christy.
- Wingate added another goal in the 48th minute of the contest with the first of the season from Angela Maino.
- O'Brien collected a shot on goal in the 49th minute and Jones had the final shot on goal for the Bobcats in the 88th minute.
FOR THE BULLDOGS:
- Boaventura and Maino scored a goal apiece in Wingate's 2-0 victory. Thisgaard earned the clean sheet in net after making three saves on the night.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae returns to Banner Elk and Tate Field on Saturday afternoon as they entertain UNC Pembroke in a Conference Carolinas match starting at 2 p.m.
