BELMONT, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's soccer picked up a crucial tie in today's 2-2 draw at Belmont Abbey.
Averee Andrews scored the match-tying goal in the 82nd minute off a ball from
Gwen O'Brien and
Sarah Jones added the first goal on the day for the Bobcats.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Belmont Abbey took the one-goal advantage in the 25th minute after Gabriela Enciso found the back of the net for the fourth time of the season. Maddie Campo kept the Crusaders to one goal in the first half with four saves in 45 minutes of action.
- Jones tied the match in the 49th minute after a misplay on the ball from Belmont Abbey's goalkeeper.
- The Crusaders regained the one-goal lead in the 76th minute after Paige D'Agostin buried a penalty kick after a handball was called on Kat Stiles.
- Lees-McRae did not go away easily as Andrews gave the Bobcats their second goal of the day in the 82nd minute after finishing a pass from O'Brien at the left post. The match ended in a 2-2 draw as Crusader Enciso had two more shots in the remainder of the contest, but none of their shots were on target.
- Campo had a season-high six saves in between the posts for the Bobcats and held off the Belmont Abbey attack.
- Taylor Barrineau joined Andrews and Jones with a shot on goal and Cami Belin and Stiles were the two Bobcats in the field to play the full 90 minutes.
FOR THE CRUSADERS:
- D'Agostin and Enciso had the goals on the day for the Crusaders and Brianna Sroka made one stop in goal in 90 minutes of action.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae battles King on Wednesday, Sept. 27 in the first of two contests this year in the "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup". The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. in Bristol, Tennessee.
