BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's volleyball picked up a three-set victory over Young Harris on Friday night in front of an electric Homecoming crowd on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court. The Bobcats are off to their best start in Conference Carolinas play since Lees-McRae went a perfect 18-0 in 2011.

FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae def. Young Harris, 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-18)
LOCATION: McNair & Debi Tornow Court – Banner Elk, North Carolina
RECORDS: Lees-McRae (7-4/4-0), Young Harris (6-8/3-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Destiny Holley and Sydney Stigler led the Bobcat attack with 15 and 13 respectively. Holley registered a .789 hitting percentage and recorded two total blocks in the contest.
- Rebecca Ryan and Patrycja Rykala followed with six kills apiece and Nina Vallesi added five in the match. Madison Goins distributed 39 assists in the three-set sweep and collected 12 digs. Lauren Xayavong also added 12 and four assists in tonight's match.
- Lees-McRae knotted the first-set score at 16-16 with a three-point run and then rattled off five more points at 24-18 for set point. Young Harris had a service error to give the Bobcats the first set at 25-22.
- The second and third set proved to be all Bobcats as Lees-McRae took a dominant lead at 21-14 and finished the set with a service ace from Vallesi. Lees-McRae limited Young Harris to a .185 hitting percentage in the third set to cruise at 25-18 and earn the three-set sweep.
FOR THE MOUNTAIN LIONS:
- Chase Vaigneur led Young Harris on the night with 12 kills and a .364 hitting percentage. Lily Hidalgo and Nicole Klucharich each added five kills on the night.
