BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's soccer earned a 2-1 victory over Young Harris this afternoon on Tate Field. The Bobcats also recognized their seniors prior to the match as
Gen Porsche and
Kat Stiles scored the goals to lead Lees-McRae past the Mountain Lions.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Porsche scored her third career goal as a Bobcat in the fourth minute of play off a throw-in from Averee Andrews.
- Stiles kept the momentum in favor of Lees-McRae in the 19th minute after finding the back of the net off a corner kick by Gwen O'Brien.
- Young Harris cut the two-goal deficit back to one in the 70th minute after Makayla Robinson recorded a goal just out of the reach of Haile Desmarais. Maya Cramer had one more chance for the Mountain Lions in the 80th minute but her shot sailed high.
- Averee Andrews,Taylor Barrineau, Cami Belin, Hannah Davies, Dahlia Bell, Samantha Smith, Gen Porsche were all recognized prior to kickoff this afternoon as part of Senior Day festivities.
FOR THE MOUNTAIN LIONS:
- Robinson had the lone goal for Young Harris and Mckenna Peaster collected one save in today's match.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae heads to Spartanburg, South Carolina next Saturday, Oct. 7 for a Conference Carolinas contest against Converse. The kickoff in Spartanburg is slated for a 3 p.m. start.
