Luke Fincham all recorded double-digit kills, but Lees-McRae men's volleyball dropped a tough five-set match to Saint Vincent on Friday.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Saint Vincent def. Lees-McRae, 3-2 (17-25, 25-20, 25-21, 23-25, 15-13)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcats started out strong in the first set with the Green and Gold earning the final four out of five points to secure the set at 25-17. Lees-McRae had 12 kills in the opening set with a .250 hitting percentage.
- Saint Vincent stormed back in the second set with a 25-20 set victory and held the set advantage after taking the third, 25-21.
- Lees-McRae had to battle in the fourth to force a fifth set as Saint Vincent had the 20-18 margin in the fourth set. The Bobcats regained the lead after five consecutive points and was capped by a solo block from Sebastian Heer. M.J. Doyle finished the fourth set with a kill at 25-23.
- In the fifth and deciding set, the Wildcats held an early 4-0 lead before Bardah collected a kill at 4-1. The Bobcats found themselves down 13-10 but a kill by Bardah and two attack errors by Saint Vincent knotted the score at 13. SVC secured the five-set victory with back-to-back points at 15-13 inside the Carey Center.
- Bardah led the Bobcats with 12 kills on a .333 hitting percentage. Beaird and Fincham followed with 10 kills apiece and Beaird added nine digs in the contest. Heer tallied eight kills on 19 attempts and Nicholas Brewster registered seven kills, six digs, and three blocks.
- Abdirahman Ahmed had 31 assists to go along with five service aces, five kills, and nine digs. Isaac LaFunor tallied a match-high 18 digs and Heer followed with 10 digs in five sets.
FOR THE WILDCATS:
- Shawn McSwiggen had a match-high 18 kills on 48 swings and collected a double-double with 15 digs to lead Saint Vincent in its home opener. Matthew Minkin followed with 15 kills and 10 digs and Zebadiah Wyant recorded 10 kills and seven digs.
- Zach Wyant compiled a match-high 40 assists to lead the attack for Saint Vincent.

Lees-McRae heads to Charleston, West Virginia to face No. 19 Charleson on Sunday, Jan. 14 at 1 p.m.
