CHARLESTON, W.Va. –
M.J. Doyle had a team-high seven kills and five digs, but Lees-McRae men's volleyball concluded its opening road trip with a three-set loss at No. 19 Charleston on Sunday afternoon.

FINAL SCORE: No. 19 Charleston def. Lees-McRae, 3-0 (25-8, 25-15, 25-17)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcats opened the first set with back-to-back points after a double block by Erel Bardah and Luke Fincham and a service ace via Merritt Crowe. Charleston used big scoring runs in the middle of the set and took the first set, 25-8.
- Bardah opened the second set with a kill, but UC held the 15-14 advantage in the middle of the set and pushed their set lead to 23-14 after eight consecutive points. The Golden Eagles gained the set after a service ace at 25-15.
- Lees-McRae continued to battle No. 19 Charleston on Sunday in the third, but UC had their best hitting percentage of the day in the third at 0.480 percentage to take the set and match.
- Doyle led the Bobcats with seven kills on 22 attempts and collected three total blocks also. Bardah followed with four kills on a .333 hitting percentage and Austin Beaird recorded three kills in the match.
- Merritt Crowe distributed 14 assists in the three sets for the Bobcats.
FOR THE GOLDEN EAGLES:
- Garret Schnitker led Charleston in the match with eight kills and Jesse Ras Delancy followed with seven kills on a .462 hitting percentage. 10 Golden Eagles collected a kill in the three-set victory.
