BELMONT, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's soccer picked up its first victory at Belmont Abbey since 2014 with a 3-1 win over the Crusaders on Saturday night.
Nils Schulze and
Harrison Watts recorded goals for the Bobcats with the other goal via an own goal from Belmont Abbey.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcats came out firing on all cylinders with Watts finding the back of the net in the 10th minute of tonight's contest. Noah Daragmeh was credited with the assist on the first goal of the evening.
- Lees-McRae collected the second goal of the contest after Caden Pierce hit the post, and the ball bounced off a Belmont Abbey defender in the 39th minute of play.
- Schulze continued the scoring with a strike in the upper right of the net in the 65th minute and gave Lees-McRae the three-goal advantage.
- Marcos Frias added the lone goal of the night for Belmont Abbey in the 77th minute, but Lees-McRae picked up its first victory over the Crusaders since 2021 and the first win on Alumni Field since 2014.
- Jonathan Kienle made three stops in goal for the Bobcats and five athletes had shots on goal for the Green and Gold.
FOR THE CRUSADERS:
- Jorge Aguilar recorded two shots on goal. Adam Cooil, Frias, and Pat Hissim added one shot on goal apiece for the Crusaders.
