SPARTANBURG, S.C. –
Haley Lowman buried a penalty kick into the back of the net in the 37th minute as Lees-McRae women's soccer registered the 1-0 victory at Converse on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Bobcats earned the outright Conference Carolinas Northwest Division title and finished divisional play at 6-0-2 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Converse's Sam Quillen had the first opportunity on goal, but Chiara Coppin made the first of four saves on the day.
- Abbey Brosnihan and Brooke Allen had consecutive shots in the 37th minute but Converse kept the score deadlocked at zero.
- The Bobcats earned a penalty kick with eight minutes remaining in the first half and Lowman calmly gave Lees-McRae the one-goal advantage with the shot.
- Ivy Cagno added two shots on goal in the second half as Lees-McRae registered the shutout victory in Spartanburg on Saturday.
- C. Coppin had her 10th shutout of the season with four saves on the day.
FOR THE VALKYRIES:
- Ellie Gore accumulated two shots on target for the Valkyries and Sam Quillen added two shots on goal also.
- Gabriella Gudeman made three saves in goal for Converse, but allowed the lone goal on the day.

Lees-McRae women's soccer concludes its 2024 regular season on Monday, November 4 at Bryan Park in Greensboro against Barton. The kick is scheduled for 3 p.m.
