BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's basketball, under first-year head coach
Lauren Galvani, kicks off its season on Saturday in Greeneville, Tennessee in the Jersey Mike's Regional Challenge at Tusculum.
The Bobcats begin the 2024-25 campaign with regional games against Tusculum and Catawba on Saturday and Sunday. Lees-McRae then heads to Winston-Salem to play Winston-Salem State on November 13 at 5:30 p.m. Lees-McRae continues the road trip to Albany, Georgia and plays Brevard on November 19. The Bobcats conclude November with Conference Carolinas opponents Young Harris (Nov. 23) and UNC Pembroke (Nov. 30).
Lees-McRae was tied for 14th in the 2024-25 Conference Carolinas women's basketball preseason poll with Erskine. Belmont Abbey was tied first with UNCP with 188 total points and the Crusaders picked up eight first-place votes.
Emily Barr, a fifth-year senior from Charlotte, North Carolina, returns to the Bobcat lineup and was named a Player to Watch for the upcoming season. Kirsten Watt, a sophomore from Asheville, North Carolina, was also named a Player to Watch for Lees-McRae this season.
