DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Lees-McRae men's basketball battled the No. 16 Coker to the final whistle on Friday evening in the first game of the 2024 Bahama House Classic on the campus of Embry-Riddle University. The Bobcats fell 89-85 to the Cobras as five Bobcats scored in double figures.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae started the game on a 9-0 run with a layup and free-throw make from DJ Kent with 18:12 in the first half. Travis Pourciau powered in a dunk to give the Bobcats their largest lead of the game at 27-14.
- Coker chipped away at the lead with a 16-4 run and held the 30-29 lead with 5:22 left in the first half. Lees-McRae trailed 40-39 at the end of the first 20 minutes.
- Lees-McRae knotted the score at 53-53 off a dunk from Pourciau and the Bobcats regained the one-point advantage off a layup from Brandon Brown.
- The Bobcats held a four-point lead off a layup from Ja'Quavian Florence, but Coker picked up the four-point advantage with 3:23 to play in the second half. Nigel Okwakol tied the score with a three at the 2:51 mark of the second half.
- Jamie Muldowney knocked down three free throws down the stretch as Coker defeated Lees-McRae, 89-85, on Friday evening.
- Coker led the nation in scoring with 111.7 points per game, but Lees-McRae held the Cobras to 89 points on Friday evening.
- Pourciau had a season-high 21 points on 9-11 from the field to lead the Bobcats. Florence followed with 12 points and six rebounds. DJ Kent had 11 points in 18 minutes of play and Okwakol joined Kent with 11 points. Anthony Parker rounded out the Bobcats in double figures with 10 points.
FOR THE COBRAS:
- Judson Coan and Sebastina Cole led Coker with 16 points apiece. Max Hurray followed with 12 points and Jamie Muldowney rounded out the Cobras in double figures with 11.
