BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball was back in action on Saturday and dropped a tough three-set match to Mount Olive.
M.J. Doyle led the Bobcats on a .318 hitting percentage and added four digs.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Mount Olive def. Lees-McRae, 3-0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-18)

RECORDS: Mount Olive (8-1/2-0): Lees-McRae (1-8/0-2)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae started with a 4-0 run to begin the first set and held the 7-1 advantage after a service ace from Doyle. The Trojans battled back and tied the first set at 14-14 and Mount Olive earned the 25-20 set win.
- The Bobcats recorded a set point at 24-22, but Mount Olive rallied with four consecutive points to earn the second set at 26-24.
- UMO had their best hitting percentage in the third set at .625 hitting percentage to secure the three-set sweep.
- Doyle led the Bobcats with 11 kills on 22 swings and added four digs and two aces. Erel Bardah followed with seven kills and a .455 hitting percentage.
- Merritt Crowe distributed 31 assists in the match and recorded two digs and one service ace. Isaac LaFunor had a match-high seven digs.
FOR THE TROJANS:
- Justin Gregory and Hayden Frear collected 11 kills apiece to lead Mount Olive in the three sets. Jackson Lahey dished out 39 assists.
- UMO combined for 11 total blocks in the match.
