DUE WEST, S.C. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball fell in three sets to Conference Carolinas foe Erskine on Friday night.
Austin Beaird and
Luke Fincham had a team-high four kills each in the match and Beaird tallied five digs in the contest.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Erskine def. Lees-McRae, 3-0 (25-13, 25-13, 25-23)
LOCATION: Belk Center – Due West, South Carolina
RECORDS: Erskine (6-4/2-1), Lees-McRae (1-9/0-3)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Erskine got out to a quick start in the first two sets and secured similar scores in the first and second set at 25-13.
- In the third, the Bobcats battled back from a 19-13 deficit and made the score 24-23 after a service from Erel Bardah. The Flying Fleet took the set and match with a kill from Edgerrin Austin.
- Lees-McRae was limited to a -.045 hitting percentage and Erskine had a .333 hitting percentage in the three sets. The Flying Fleet and the Bobcats were even in blocks with five apiece and digs with 21 each in the match.
- Beaird and Fincham recorded four kills apiece for the Bobcats. Abdirahman Ahmed collected 10 assists in two sets for Lees-McRae and Merritt Crowe had seven assists.
FOR THE FLYING FLEET:
- Austin had a match-high 13 kills for Erskine and Jacob Mullen joined him in double-digit kills with 10 on a .500 hitting percentage.
- Francisco Pomar had 26 assists in the three sets and Mullen recorded six digs in the match.
