Nim Castro and
Shannan Korovich each collected three goals, but Lees-McRae women's lacrosse dropped a tough 15-9 contest to Mars Hill on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Irelynd Manning got the Bobcats on the board first with a goal at the 11:40 mark of the first quarter. Mars Hill answered with two goals, before the Bobcats closed the quarter with goals from Manning and Anna Stutts.
- Korovich added her first goal of the season with 12:06 remaining in the first half, but the Lions rallied four straight goals to close the half.
- Mars Hill pushed their lead to three goals in the third quarter at 7-4. Castro tallied a goal with 13:02 left in the third, but the Lions built their lead to 13-5 at the end of third quarter.
- Castro and Korovich combined for four more goals in the fourth quarter, but Lees-McRae ultimately fell to Mars Hill 15-9 on Saturday.
- Castro had three goals and three assists for the Bobcats and Korovich matched her with three goals in the contest. Manning had two goals and Stutts added the remaining goal for Lees-McRae.
- Korovich picked up six draw controls in the contest and Castro followed with five draws. Korovich and Stutts recorded two caused turnovers in today's game.
FOR THE LIONS:
- Chandler Werner had a game-high four goals to lead Mars Hill in the win. Samantha Newton and Haley Stallings each had hat tricks and Stallings added three assists in the contest.
- Lauren Bryner made seven saves in goal for Mars Hill.
