Shannan Korovich netted a hat trick and seven draw controls, but Lees-McRae women's lacrosse fell to Tiffin in its home opener on Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Tiffin scored the opening goal with 11 minutes left in the first quarter, but Melody Ripley tied the contest at one goal apiece with a marker at the 8:55 mark of the first period. Tiffin ended the opening 15 minutes on four-goal run for the 5-1 advantage.
- The Dragons added five more goals in the second quarter and took a 10-1 lead heading into the halftime break.
- Hailey Smith scored the second goal of the contest for the Bobcats with 2:24 left in the third period as Tiffin led 13-2 after 45 minutes of play.
- Korovich tallied three goals in the final frame as Lees-McRae fell to Tiffin, 16-5, on Monday afternoon. Korovich finished the day with three goals, seven draw controls, and one caused turnover.
- Mckenzie Mellen had four draw controls in the game and picked up five ground balls.
- Chloe O'Neal made six saves in goal for Lees-McRae in 30 minutes of play.
FOR THE DRAGONS:
- Brenna Bohan led the Dragons with five goals and three assists and added three ground balls and three draw controls. Cassidy Kumiega followed with four goals and Lauren Walsh joined her teammates with a multi-goal game with two goals and one assist.
UP NEXT:
Lees-McRae heads to Salisbury, North Carolina on Thursday, Feb. 22 for a road match against Catawba starting at 7 p.m.
