BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's tennis picked up their third home victory of the season with a 4-3 win against Union (Ky.) on Saturday.
Anita Ivanova sealed the match with a straight-set victory at No. 5 singles in Banner Elk.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Begum Gumussoy and Rhidaim Yang earned the Bobcats the 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles and the two sides looked to the third doubles for the first point of the match. Miranda Noor and Lina Ngassi Saqout collected the decisive 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles for the one-point lead.
- Yang tallied the second point for Lees-McRae with the 7-6 (3), 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
- Union registered their first point of the match with a three-set win at No. 1 singles and evened the match with a three-set victory at No. 3 singles.
- Saqout gave Lees-McRae the 3-2 advantage in the overall match with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles and Ivanova secured the win on the C.D. Chesley Tennis Courts at No. 5 singles with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Union's Laia Garriga Oms.
- Lucy Spice took the third-set tiebreaker, 10-4, over Gumussoy to round out the day for the two squads.
