BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's tennis earned a 6-1 victory over North Greenville in a marathon match today. The Bobcats also clinched a share of the Conference Carolinas regular season title which is the first in program history since 2009.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae opened the match with the doubles point after securing wins at No. 1 and 3 doubles. Anita Ivanova and Pati Vedia Sanchez took the 6-1 decision at No. 1 doubles and Miranda Noor and Lina Ngassi Saqout earned the point with the 6-3 decision at No. 3 doubles.
- Rhidaim Yang collected the Bobcats' second point with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles.
- North Greenville earned the three-set victory at No. 1 singles to cut the deficit to 2-1.
- Noor earned a point in a three-set match at No. 3 singles with a 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3 win over NGU's Vitoria Maxmilano.
- Ivanova continued the momentum at No. 4 singles with a 6-3, 6-3 victory and Saqout collected a three-set comeback victory at No. 5 singles, 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-4).
- Begum Gumussoy closed the marathon match with the 8-0 win in a pro set against Megan Turner.

Lees-McRae will now head to Sumter, South Carolina for the 2024 Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Championships starting on Friday, April 26.
