SUMTER, S.C. – In a battle of the top two seeds of Conference Carolinas, Erskine defeated Lees-McRae women's tennis, 4-2, at the Palmetto Tennis Center this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae jumped out to the one-point advantage after earning the doubles point. Begum Gumussoy and Rhidaim Yang collected the 6-2 doubles victory at No. 2 doubles.
- Lina Ngassi Saqout and Miranda Noor registered the doubles point with a tiebreak victory at No. 3 doubles.
- Erskine knotted the overall match at one point with a straight-set win at No. 6 singles.
- Yang gave the Bobcats their second point with an impressive win at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-0. Lees-McRae recorded the first set in three of the six matches today.
- Erskine used another straight-set victory at No. 3 singles to even the match at 2-2 and pulled within one point after winning at No. 5 singles, 6-4, 7-6 (3).
- At No. 1 singles, Pati Vedia Sanchez collected the first set, 6-2, but Erskine's Emma Bentz took the match in three sets at 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 and sealed the championship for Erskine.
- Anita Ivanova led in the third set of her match at No. 4 singles, but play was halted after Erskine at No. 1 singles.
- Ivanova and Yang were selected to the Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis All-Tournament Team. Erskine's Bentz was named the MVP of the championship.
