BELMONT, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball fell to Conference Carolinas leader Belmont Abbey in three sets on Wednesday evening in Belmont. Nicholas Brewester recorded a team-high eight kills on a .375 hitting percentage for the Bobcats.

FINAL SCORE: Belmont Abbey def. Lees-McRae, 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-22)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Belmont Abbey collected the first two sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-16 and hit a match-high .429 percentage in the second set for the two-set lead.
- Lees-McRae had its best set in the third set after hitting .231 and recorded nine kills in the set. The Bobcats used a 4-0 scoring at 20-18 for the lead after an attack error from the Crusaders. Belmont Abbey then answered with a four-point run at 23-21 and took the set, 25-22.
- Brewster led the Bobcats for a second-straight match in the kills column with eight kills and added three digs. Sebastian Heer followed with six kills, two service aces, and one dig. M.J. Doyle had five kills and one dig.
- Abdirahman Ahmed distributed 22 assists in the three assists and tallied three kills, six digs, and one block. Isaac LaFunor had a match-high nine digs in two sets for Lees-McRae.
FOR THE CRUSADERS:
- Zach Puentes paced Belmont Abbey in the three sets with 10 kills, six digs, and one block. Matthew Staskunas had eight kills and Ethan Rehman collected a hitting percentage of .750 with seven kills.
