Shannan Korovich notched six goals and her 100th career draw control as Lees-McRae women's lacrosse honored four seniors in today's contest against Chowan.
Alli Blevins,
Nim Castro, and
Chloe O'Neal joined Korovich as part of the Senior Day recognition.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Chowan – 20; Lees-McRae – 11

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Korovich started the game with a goal at the 14 minute mark of the first quarter to give Lees-McRae the 1-0 lead. Chowan answered with two goals for 2-1 advantage.
- Castro collected a goal with 11:52 left in the first to tie the contest as the two sides traded goals throughout opening quarter.
- Chowan seized control of the game with a four-goal run in the second quarter to take the 10-5 advantage. The Hawks held the 14-6 lead at the halftime break.
- Lees-McRae made a rally in the third and fourth quarter after goals from Korovich, Mckenzie Mellen, and Hailey Smith. The Bobcats trailed by five goals with 11:45 left in the fourth, but Chowan earned the 20-11 win on Saturday afternoon.
- Korovich had a team-high six goals to lead the Bobcats and tallied seven draw controls, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers on the day. Mellen followed with two goals, five draw controls, and three caused turnovers.
- Castro, Irelynd Manning, and Smith each recorded a goal in the contest and Castro had five draw controls in the contest.
- O'Neal made 10 saves in goal for Lees-McRae and Tori Meiss had three stops.
FOR THE HAWKS:
- Grace Taylor paced the Hawks with eight goals and two assists. Victoria Brown and Gracie Timken recorded three goals apiece.
