Layla Tillery led Lees-McRae women's basketball with 11 points, but the Bobcats fell to No. 21 Belmont Abbey, 58-44, in Conference Carolinas play on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Thailand Smith opened the scoring with a jumper at the 8:15 mark of the first quarter. Belmont Abbey gained the lead with an 8-0 scoring run and led 16-9 at the end of the first quarter.
- The Crusaders added to their lead in the second quarter and secured a 20-point advantage into the halftime break.
- Belmont Abbey added to its lead in the third quarter and collected the 58-44 win over Lees-McRae on Tuesday night.
- Lees-McRae outscored the Crusaders, 18-3, in the final quarter of tonight's game.
- Tillery had a team-high 11 points on 7-10 from the free-throw line and added three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Nadiya Hairston followed with seven points and Shayne Burton added six points to her season totals.
FOR THE CRUSADERS:
- Abigail Crain and Madison Lusk led Belmont Abbey with 15 points apiece. Crain recorded seven rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes played. Peyton Nation joined Crain and Lusk in double-digit scoring with 10 points.
