Ja'Quavian Florence had a game-high 26 points, but Johnson C. Smith defeated Lees-McRae men's basketball, 89-77, on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Johnson C. Smith jumped out to a 17-4 lead with 13:18 to play in the first half and led 23 with 6:55 left in the first half.
- The Bobcats cut the deficit back to 12 points off a dunk from Nico Ashley as the Golden Bulls led 41-29 heading into halftime.
- Florence knocked down a three to cut the deficit to seven points in the second half, but JCSU pushed its lead back to double digits in the early stages of the second half.
- Lees-McRae got within six points off the Golden Bulls, but JCSU went on a 7-0 run for the 69-52 advantage with 8:46 left in regulation. Johnson C. Smith earned the 89-77 win on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court.
- Florence led all scorers with 26 points in 30 minutes of action. Anthony Parker joined him in double figures with 18 points.
FOR THE GOLDEN BULLS:
- Jamauri Bryant led the Golden Bulls with 21 points in 6-9 from the floor and 9-11 from the free-throw line. Ashton Sherrell tallied 17 points and eight rebounds. Javon Anderson and Jared Davis rounded out the Golden Bulls in double-digit scoring with 16 and 12 points, respectively.
