FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – Lees-McRae men's basketball battled Conference Carolinas opponent Emmanuel on Saturday afternoon, but fell to the Lions, 89-72.
Ja'Quavian Florence and
DJ Kent registered double-digit points for the Bobcats.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Florence knocked in the opening three-pointer at the 19:35 mark of the first half and Nico Ashley added two points with a jumper. The Bobcats staked a six-point lead with 10:18 remaining in the first half after two free throws from Nigel Okwakol.
- Emmanuel gained the lead at 31-30 and Chris Dees connected on a three-pointer with 1:50 remaining in the first half. The Lions held the 38-32 lead at the end of the first half.
- Emmanuel pushed its lead to 10 points with a layup from Kendall Latney and the Lions earned the 89-72 win on their home floor on Saturday.
- Florence scored 25 points on 10-17 shooting for Lees-McRae and Kent followed with 13 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Ashley and Travis Pourciau poured in eight points apiece.
FOR THE LIONS:
- Latney led four Emmanuel scorers in double figures with 21 points. Elisee Ehuie followed with 15 points and Dees scored 14 in 30 minutes of play. Tavarus Webb recorded 13 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and five blocks in today's win.
