Parker's Career Night Lifts Men's Basketball to 107-82 Victory over Converse

BANNER ELK, N.C. – Anthony Parker had a career-high 32 points behind a single-game record nine three-pointers in tonight's 107-82 win over Conference Carolinas opponent Converse on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Nico Ashley started the game with a layup at the 19:27 mark and the Bobcats did not look back this evening. DJ Kent regained the lead for Lees-McRae off a layup with 18:04 left in the first half.
  • The Bobcats went on an 18-0 run in five minutes for the 36-11 advantage and carried the 61-37 lead into the halftime break.
  • Converse chipped away at the lead to start the second half as the Valkyries trailed by 17 with 17:15 to play in regulation.
  • Lees-McRae moved the momentum back into its favor with a 27-point lead off a layup from Parker at the nine-minute mark. The Bobcats prevailed over the Valkyries by a final of 107-82 on Tuesday evening.
  • Lees-McRae shot a season-best 70.2% (40-57) from the field with 14 three-pointers and went 13-18 from the free-throw line.
  • Parker went an impressive 11-16 from the floor with nine three-pointers and added four rebounds and three assists in tonight's contest. Ashley followed with 15 points, six rebounds, four steals, two blocks, and three assists.
  • Kent joined Ashley and Parker in double-digit scoring with 10 points in 17 minutes of action. Nigel Okwakol and Brandon Brown both had nine points in tonight's contest.
FOR THE VALKYRIES:
  • Joel Pullen led four Valkyries in double figures with 16 points in 18 minutes off the bench. Jay Mitchell, Isac Ahnstrand, and Ben Jones joined Pullen in double-digit scoring for Converse.
