Jonas Bartelt and
Karim Gegg scored one goal each as Lees-McRae men's soccer collected the 2-1 Conference Carolinas win over Converse on Tate Field this evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Bartelt headed in a beautiful cross from Conor O'Gorman in the seventh minute as Lees-McRae led 1-0 over Converse.
- Bartelt had another opportunity in the 31st minute, but Valkyrie goalkeeper Harry O'Brien made the save. Gegg followed with an opportunity in the 32nd minute.
- Gegg had one more opportunity with 36 seconds left in the first half as Lees-McRae led 1-0 heading into the halftime break.
- Gegg got the Bobcats' second goal of the evening in the 47th minute of the match with an assist from O'Gorman.
- Lees-McRae then had to play a man down after Callum Bonny was sent off in the 51st minute.
- Converse got on the board via a goal from Owen Nero in the 82nd minute. Lees-McRae held off a rally from the Valkyries and the Bobcats earned their first victory over Converse since September 2021.
- Jonathan Kienle made three saves in goal for Lees-McRae and Sean Green made two stops in the contest.
- Gegg had three shots on goal and Bartelt followed with two shots on target.
- Lees-McRae moved its unbeaten streak to six matches (2-0-4) dating back to September 20.
