Julie Eskes and
Mackenzie Sanford tallied goals as Lees-McRae women's soccer collected the 2-1 victory over King in a "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" match on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Eskes recorded her first goal as a Bobcat on Tuesday after following up a shot on goal by Jordan Bartlinski in the ninth minute.
- Sanford added to the lead for Lees-McRae in the 23rd minute off an assist from Ezra Carpenter. Lees-McRae led 2-0 after the first 45 minutes.
- Brooke Allen had a shot on goal in the 54th minute, but King's Olivia Seston made the save.
- King had the majority of the possession in the second half and Elsa Pelicant cut the deficit to one goal in the 75th minute.
- King had an opportunity late in tonight's contest, but Laura Walker handled the pressure and Lees-McRae won 2-1 over King.
- Walker made four saves in net in tonight's win and Lees-McRae now holds a 3.5-1.5 advantage in the "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" standings.
