Top Moments from 2025 for Lees-McRae Athletics

Lees-McRae Athletics celebrated many moments during the 2025 calendar year and we are ready to celebrate more in the coming year. With final exams winding down here in Banner Elk, we wanted to take a look at some of our favorite moments from 2025.

Lees-McRae men's cycling freshman Manolo Wrolich was crowned the 61st national champion in program history on Saturday afternoon at the 2025 USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships in Waterloo, Wisconsin.
Snowboard_Nationals2025
The Lees-McRae Ski & Snowboard team took to the course at Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Oregon for the 2025 U.S. Collegiate Ski & Snowboard National Championships last week. The Bobcats recorded a team national title in Women's BoarderCross and Men's Giant Slalom. Luke Koch was crowned the champion in the Men's Giant Slalom.

The Lees-McRae College Athletic Department released its end-of-spring semester GPA report with the Bobcat student-athletes earning a 3.36 grade-point average and posting their 24th consecutive semester with a GPA over 3.0.
No. 1 seed Lees-McRae defeated No. 2 seed Erskine, 4-2, in the 2025 Conference Women's Tennis Championship on Sunday at the Palmetto Tennis Center. Pati Vedia Sanchez was named the MVP of the All-Tournament Team.

Lees-McRae women's cross country sophomore Megan Knapp earned the individual title at the 2025 Conference Carolinas Women's Cross Country Championship this afternoon.

Men's Soccer Upsets Francis Marion, 2-1, in Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Quarterfinals

In the first game back on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court since September 25, 2024, Lees-McRae men's and women's basketball hosted North Greenville in Conference Carolinas play on January 8, 2025. The newly renovated court was the first time for scheduled competition since September 2024 for Bobcat athletics.

Lees-McRae Athletics kicked off the fall semester with the first-ever Fan Fest on Tate Field on August 23. The event celebrated the start of our athletic competitions and welcomed the Banner Elk community.

Lees-McRae Athletics celebrated the end of the 2024-25 academic year grand fashion on April 28. We were honored to celebrate our student-athletes, coaches, and supporting staff during an epic year for our college.
