DJ Kent poured in a game-high 26 points, but Lees-McRae men's basketball dropped a tough game to Chowan, 82-68, on Friday evening in Conference Carolinas play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Dre Nelson and Ja'Quavian Florence connected on the first two baskets for Lees-McRae as the Bobcats led 5-0 in the first 43 seconds of the contest. Lees-McRae held the 10-3 advantage, but Chowan went on a 10-0 scoring run.
- The Hawks built a six-point lead off a three-pointer from William Hynes and continued to add to their lead in the final nine minutes of the first half. Chowan led 47-28 at the halftime break.
- Lees-McRae cut the deficit to 15 points off a layup from Kent at the 2:36 mark of the second half, but Chowan earned the 82-68 win in Banner Elk on Friday night.
- Kent scored a game-high 26 points on 11-20 shooting. Florence followed with 12 points in 36 minutes of action. Nico Ashley had nine points, nine rebounds, and three blocks in the contest.
- Eric Gordon Jr. led the Hawks with 15 points. Daylan Askew and Damerius Summers both had 13 points. Aaron Ross rounded out Chowan scorers in double figures with 10 points.
