MONROE, N.C. – Lees-McRae women's tennis earned the doubles point and three singles matches went to three sets, but the Bobcats fell to No. 8 Wingate on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Begum Gumussoy and Lina Ngassi Saqout gave Lees-McRae the first doubles victory at No. 3 doubles with a 6-2 win.
- Anita Ivanova and Pati Vedia Sanchez secured the doubles points with 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles.
- Saqout collected a straight-set victory at No. 4 singles with the 6-1, 7-5 win over Wingate's Claudia Vallejos.
- Sanchez sent her match to a third set but fell in the third set to No. 22 ranked singles player in the nation, Chloe Kosmrlj.
- Ivanova also went three sets, but fell to Suzuka Sambyakugari, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.
- Gumussoy also went three sets but fell to Gigi Hinson, 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.
