DJ Kent and
Drew Redmond combined for 55 points as Lees-McRae men's basketball defeated Francis Marion, 107-101, in overtime on Saturday in Conference Carolinas play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Kent opened the scoring with a fastbreak dunk at the 18:53 mark of the first half. Lees-McRae built a five-point lead off a layup from Ja'Qauvian Florence.
- The Bobcats maintained a one-possession lead throughout the first half and held the one-point advantage heading into the halftime break.
- Lees-McRae jumped out to a 10-point lead on a 11-2 run to start the second half. Nico Ashley capped the scoring run with a jumper inside the paint at the 17:06 mark of the second half.
- Francis Marion tied the contest at 58 points apiece with a dunk from Alex Atkinson and the Patriots gained the 60-58 lead from a Atkinson jumper.
- Lees-McRae battled back and took the 69-66 lead off a three-pointer from Dre Nelson. The two sides traded the lead throughout the remainder of the second half. FMU held the five-point edge with 2:23 to play in regulation.
- The Bobcats battled back and tied the contest at 84-84 off a fastbreak dunk from Kent. Redmond gave Lees-McRae the 89-87 lead off a three-pointer with 44 seconds remaining. FMU sent the game into overtime with a layup from Jordyn Surratt.
- Redmond regained the lead for the Bobcats at 98-97 off a layup from Redmond and Oli Smith knocked in a crucial triple for the 101-99 lead.
- Nelson hit the go-ahead layup at 103-101 and the Bobcats held Francis Marion scoreless for the final 1:06 of the overtime period for the 107-101 win in Florence.
- Kent scored a season-high 28 points on 11-17 shooting and six rebounds in the game. Redmond followed with 27 points, five steals, and three assists.
- Smith recorded 13 points off the bench and Nico Ashley had 12 points, nine rebounds, and one block in 27 minutes.
FOR THE PATRIOTS:
- Jordyn Surratt had a game-high 40 points on 18-26 from the field for the Patriots. Atkinson followed with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
- Ibrahim Wattara and Jaden Broughton rounded out FMU in double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
