Garvin Johnson registered a hat trick and went 7-17 from the face-off, but Lees-McRae men's lacrosse fell to Belmont Abbey, 21-7, in Conference Carolinas play on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Belmont Abbey started the game with three goals in the first half of the first period. Spence Combs got the Bobcats on the board at the 7:06 mark of the first quarter. Dryden Murrell and Adam Ross tallied goals to tie the contest at three goals apiece.
- The Crusaders ended the first quarter with two goals and led 10-3 at the halftime break. Belmont Abbey scored 11 more times in the second half and collected the 21-7 win on Tate Field.
- Combs scored once more in the fourth quarter and Johnson recorded three goals in the final 15 minutes of today's game.
- Belmont Abbey went 4-6 on man-up opportunities and collected 36 ground balls to the Bobcats' 25 on the day.
