GREENVILLE, S.C. – Lees-McRae women's soccer graduate student Goalkeeper
Chiara Coppin was recently selected as a nominee for the Conference Carolinas Female Athlete of the Year.
The Female Athlete of the Year Award is awarded to the most outstanding female student-athlete for the year in the league. Per Director of Athletics vote, nominations will be accepted from member institutions to only include conference-sponsored sports and all nomination information, statistics, and accomplishments are solely based on athletically-related criteria.
Coppin was recognized in 2024 to the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Women's Soccer All-America First Team and D2CCA All-Southeast First Team. Coppin was also honored as the 2024 Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year and voted to the All-Conference Carolinas First Team.
Lees-McRae ranked first nationally in goals against average at 0.247 and second as a program in shutout percentage at 75%. Coppin ranked second nationally in goals against average, third nationally in save percentage, and first among Conference Carolinas athletes. Coppin also ranked sixth in Division II with 12 shutouts.
The winner of the 2024-25 Conference Carolinas Female Athlete of the Year will be released on Thursday, July 10.
