BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's soccer used a dominant performance on Homecoming as the Bobcats defeated Emmanuel, 2-0, in Conference Carolinas play.
Santi Balza and
Zach Carr tallied the first goals of their collegiate careers on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sean Green made the first stop of seven on the afternoon in goal for the Bobcats. Lees-McRae had its first opportunity of the match off a corner kick and Carr finished the ball into the back of the net with the header at the eight-minute mark.
- Conor Hart had a quality strike on the ball in the 14th minute, but Emmanuel's Jackson Gallegos kept the match at 1-0.
- Balza doubled the Bobcat lead with 42 seconds remaining in the first half off assists from Luke Creed and Landon Robbins.
- Lees-McRae maintained the 2-0 lead in the second half with multiple chances on goal. The Bobcats earned their first victory of the season with 2-0 win and also their first Conference Carolinas win of 2025.
- Green had a season-high seven saves in goal for Lees-McRae. Conor O'Gorman collected three shots on goal for the Bobcats and Landon Robbins had four shots on target. Lees-McRae had 22 total shots and 14 shots on goal in the 90 minutes of action.
