BRISTOL, Tenn. – Lees-McRae women's soccer fell to King, 2-0, in the first edition of the "Battle for the Blue Ridge Cup" in 2025.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- King's Ella Froehlich scored the opening goal in the 17th minute of the first half and followed one minute later with another goal for the 2-0 lead.
- Aubrey Tansey had a shot on target in the 34th minute, but King's Olivia Seston made the stop. Peyton Coggins recorded an opportunity in the 42nd minute, but Seston made the save once again. King led 2-0 heading into the halftime break.
- With roughly 32 minutes left in the second half, the match entered into a weather delay, but the teams made their way back onto the pitch a couple hours later.
- King took the match by a final of 2-0. Lees-McRae had the advantage in shots, 13-6, shots on goal, 5-4, and corners, 6-1, in today's match.
- Kaitlin Filippo made two saves in the contest and Tansey led the Bobcats with two shots on goal.
