ROME, Ga. – Lees-McRae women's basketball was held to a season-low 55 points and suffered its first loss since December 16, 2025 with the 63-55 Conference Carolinas loss to Shorter on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae gained the lead at 10-9 off a layup from Nadiya Hairston with 3:47 left in the opening quarter. Hairston followed with a three-pointer as the Bobcats and Hawks ended the first tied at 13-13.
- Shorter took the lead in the second period and led by seven with 3:33 to play in the first half. Kaylee Carson cut the deficit in half with a three-pointer at 28-25, but Shorter answered with a three of their own and led 31-25 at the end of the first half.
- Lees-McRae moved the momentum back in its favor and went on a 10-0 scoring run to lead 35-33. The Bobcats added to their lead and led by six at the end of third quarter via a made basket from Carson.
- Shorter returned the favor in the fourth quarter and regained the two-point advantage with a made basket from Aijah Manning. The Bobcats got within four points of the Shorter's lead, but the Hawks collected the 63-55 win on their home floor.
- Carson and Hairston led the Bobcats with 35 combined points on 14-27 shooting. Hairston finished the contest with 17 points, four rebounds, and one assist.
- Lees-McRae shot 43.8% (21-48) from the floor with five made three-pointers.
