GREENVILLE, S.C. – Lees-McRae women's basketball Junior Guard Nadiya Hairston was named the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a career-high 31 points in the 84-67 win over Mount Olive and averaged 28 points per game in two games last week.
Hairston, a Winston-Salem, North Carolina native, led the Bobcats in scoring in both contests last week with 25 points at King and 31 points at home against Mount Olive. Hairston played all 40 minutes in Saturday's win and connected on seven three-pointers while adding three rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
In Conference Carolinas, Hairston is currently ranked second in points per game with 19.3 points per game and first in free throw percentage at 89.7%. Hairston and the Lees-McRae women's basketball leads the conference in points per game with 76.1 points per contest.
Lees-McRae women's basketball looks to continue its six-game win streak tomorrow evening against Warren Wilson at 6 p.m. on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court.
