KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Lees-McRae women's tennis opened its season with a 7-0 victory over Pikeville this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bobcats started the match with the doubles point. Lina Ngassi Saqout and Caroline Brothers won 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. Kylie Childers and Alexa Mazzei defeated Pikeville's Grace Clark and Elizabeth Davis, 6-2.
- Lees-McRae rolled in the singles action with five straight-set victories and a forfeit win at No. 6 singles.
- Saqout earned the 7-5, 6-3 win over Geraldine Salinas. Mazzei followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Teegan Carpenter.
- Brothers tallied the 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles and Lily Smith won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
- Childers completed the 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles and Rori Long won by forfeit at No. 6 singles.
