BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball battled Belmont Abbey in five sets this evening on the McNair & Debi Tornow Court.
Davide Nicolini led the Bobcats with 11 kills and added seven digs in the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Belmont Abbey jumped out to the 1-0 set lead after hitting .524 in the first set and collecting the opening set at 25-12.
- The Bobcats evened the match at one set apiece with the 25-23 set victory. Nicolini seized the momentum for the Bobcats at 19-17 and Ben Fincham closed the set at 25-23.
- Lees-McRae carried the momentum into the third set. The Bobcats held the early 8-6 advantage after a Belmont Abbey service error. Lees-McRae then rattled off five consecutive points for the 14-9 lead and earned the set at 25-17 with a kill from Ben Fincham.
- The Crusaders sent the match to a fifth and final set after hitting .500 in the fourth set and earning the set at 25-16. Belmont Abbey picked up the win in five sets with the 15-5 win in the fifth set.
- Nicolini led the Bobcats with 11 kills and recorded seven digs and two service aces in five sets. Ben Fincham followed with seven kills and Evan Harris recorded five kills on a .364 hitting percentage. Abdirahman Ahmed distributed 25 assists, three blocks, and four digs in the match.
