EMORY, Va. –
Courtney Bednarz scored the third-most goals in a single game in Lees-McRae women's lacrosse program history, but the Bobcats fell to Emory & Henry, 17-16, on Wednesday at the Food City Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the first period, Lees-McRae evened the score at 2-2 and took the 4-2 lead off a woman-up goal from Bednarz. The Bobcats led the Wasps 4-3 at the end of the first 15 minutes.
- Emory & Henry regained the lead at 5-4, but the Bobcats returned the favor and evened the contest at 9-9 with a goal from Bednarz 36 seconds before the halftime break.
- The Wasps moved the margin back to two goals, but Lees-McRae continued to battle back and tied the game at 12-12 with consecutive goals from Bednarz.
- In the final minutes of the fourth, Emory & Henry retook the two-goal advantage with a goal from Whitney Holland. Bednarz cut the deficit to one goal and the Bobcats had two shots on goal in the final 3:40, but Emory & Henry's Ella James came up with two big stops.
- Bednarz led the Bobcats with eight goals. Madison Primeau collected a hat trick on three shots and recorded two draw controls. Li Cevallos tallied two goals this evening. Payton Barbee, Crystal Johnson, and Taylor Murrell chipped in one goal each.
