DUE WEST, S.C. – Lees-McRae men's basketball escaped Belk Arena this evening with a 46-45 Conference Carolinas win over Erskine this evening.
Nigel Okwakol had a team-high 15 points to lead the Bobcats.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae started the game with an 8-0 scoring run to take the 8-2 lead at 15:22 mark of the first half. Cedric Patterson scored a fastbreak layup as the Bobcats held the 16-9 advantage.
- Erskine took the lead at 21-20 off a three-pointer from Max Peeler, but Dwight Canady answered with a three-pointer one minute later. The two sides entered halftime tied at 24-24.
- The Bobcats moved the margin back to five points in the first moments of the second half. Erskine continued to keep the margin with a basket and led 40-39 off free throw makes from Anthony Phillips.
- Isajah Deburgo pushed the Bobcats back in front with a layup with 1:13 remaining in the contest. Erskine knotted the score at 45-45 before Okwakol was fouled with seven seconds left and hit one free throw for the 46-45 win in Belk Arena.
- Okwakol had 15 points on 6-11 shooting in 40 minutes and added seven rebounds. Canady joined Okwakol in double-digit scoring with 10 points. Yerald Mieses tallied seven points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the game. Deburgo finished with seven points in 21 minutes off the bench.
