BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Lees-McRae ski & snowboarding team continued its 2026 at nearby Sugar Mountain on January 18 and 19.
The men's ski team finished in 1st place in Slalom.
Hunter Post paced the Bobcats after coming in first overall.
Corey Goldberg and
Max Ligman finished in sixth and seventh places, respectively.
Autumn Peters made her alpine debut and finished in 23rd place in Giant Slalom for Lees-McRae.
In Giant Slalom, Post claimed third and fellow Bobcats Goldberg and Ligman placed 20th and 21st.
The women's snowboarding team also competed on Sunday in Giant Slalom.
Nicole Yoos led the Bobcat women with first place.
Anna Craver and
Abi Byrd followed in second and ninth places, respectively.
The men's snowboarding team tallied the first three spots with
Luke Koch leading the way. Nathan Devito,
Owen Gordon,
Luke Elting, and
Spencer Gibson followed Gibson's lead at Sugar Mountain.
