SNOWSHOE, W.Va. – The Lees-McRae ski & snowboarding competed in the USCSA Mid-Atlantic Regionals on February 21 and 22 at Snowshoe Mountain Resort in Snowshoe, West Virginia.
The men's ski team had their best finish in program history coming in 10th place in Giant Slalom and 13th in Slalom. Hunter Post, Max Ligman, Macen Lineberger, and Corey Goldberg finished in 18th, 40th, 41st, and 46th in Giant Slalom. Post placed 18th in the Slalom event.
The freeski team finished in ninth place in the Rail Jam and in the Slopestyle.
The Bobcat women's snowboard team won the Giant Slalom race with Abi Byrd, Anna Craver, Shelby Knaak, Nicole Yoos, and Sophie Young coming in third, seventh, 12th, 14th, and 22nd respectively.
The women's team also won the Slopestyle event with Yoos in second and Byrd in fifth place. Craver, Young, and Knaak registered sixth, 10th, and 13th for the Bobcats.
In the rail jam, Lees-McRae tied for second place overall. Craver, Byrd, Knaak, Young, and Yoos finished in seventh, eighth, ninth, 10th, and 13th places.
The men's snowboard team won all three events at the USCSA Mid-Atlantic Regional. In Giant Slalom, Luke Koch, Nathan Devito, Spencer Gibson, Luke Elting, and Owen Gordon finished in first, second, sixth, 12th, and 13th places respectively.
In Rail Jam, Gordon, Koch, Devito, Elting, and Gavin Seddon recorded finishes of second, sixth, eighth, ninth, and 14th places.
The Lees-McRae Ski & Snowboard team will kick off the USCSA Nationals in Lake Placid, New York today with qualifying rounds.
