BANNER ELK, N.C. – Lees-McRae men's volleyball concluded the weekend with two sweeps over Conference Carolinas opponents. The Bobcats dispatched Erskine in straight sets on Saturday afternoon.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Lees-McRae def. Erskine, 3-0 (25-22, 27-25, 25-20)
LOCATION: McNair & Debi Tornow Court – Banner Elk, North Carolina
RECORDS: Lees-McRae (6-8/3-2); Erskine (5-8/1-5)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lees-McRae took the 9-8 set lead in the first set and earned the first set at 25-22 via a kill from Ben Fincham.
- Erskine and Lees-McRae battled in the second set as the Flying Fleet held a set point at 25-24. The Bobcats rallied back for three consecutive points for the 27-25 set win.
- In the third set, Lees-McRae carried the momentum and used a 7-0 scoring run for the 22-18 lead. The Bobcats finished the match in three sets with a kill from Evan Harris.
- Ben Fincham and Davide Nicolini tallied a team-high eight kills in the contest for the Bobcats. Jadon Ciriacks and Harris followed with seven kills each.
- Abdirahman Ahmed led the offense with 30 assists, five kills, four digs, and one block. Nicolini collected six digs and Ben Ratliff-Becher added five digs to his season totals.
- Lees-McRae recorded a .265 hitting percentage with 40 kills and five total blocks in today's win.
